Here is a guide to understanding the Factions game mode! Factions is a team-based raiding game where you will create teams called “Factions”. Your faction will need to learn to work together to build your faction’s value. During this time, you will want to raid other factions and destroy their value while gathering some new supplies. Separate factions on the server can either choose to forge alliances and help each other or become enemies and fight. How to build Faction value:
Simply place down your spawners, emerald, iron, gold and diamond blocks within your claimed faction land. These are the only items that will be counted towards faction value. Once placed, they will start building up value. The longer you have them placed, the more value they will gain. You can purchase spawners in the /shop in the spawners section or receive them in crates with crate keys. The higher the price to purchase the spawner, the higher the faction value it will give. You can also purchase the blocks in /shop as well in the ores section.
You can view the Faction Top values by using /ftop. Ftop values will update every 60 minutes (1 hour), so you may not see immediate changes. Please note that if you break any of the faction value items then you will lose the value for that item. The value will start increasing again from 0 because it will be newly placed.
Understanding Personal Power:
Each player has their own personal power. This is important for your Faction as it allows you to be powerful enough to keep your Factions land from being overclaimed. To see your current power and max power, use /f power. As the free rank, your personal power will be 15. Your power increases for every minute until you are back at your maximum power. Every time you die, you will lose 2 power unless you are using /duels and /FFA. The lowest your power can drop to is -15. There are also purchasable ranks that allow for a higher maximum power, along with other perks, that are available in the /store.
Understanding your Factions Power:
First, to see information about your Faction you will need to use the command /f show.
POWER: Looking at the POWER line you will see two numbers. The first number is the CURRENT power that all of your faction members currently have. The second number is the MAXIMUM power that all of your faction members have added up together.CLAIMS: This is VERY important. The first number is how many claims your faction has. 1 claim = 1 chunk. A claim can also be known as your factions land. To claim your factions land, do /f claim. If you need to un-claim a chunk then you would do /f unclaim.
Example: Let’s say you have 3 chunks claimed. The CLAIMS line will say 3. The second number is the maximum power of every member in your Faction combined (yes, this is the same as the first line in the POWER section). You cannot claim more land than you have max power in your faction. If your faction has 10 members, then your faction’s maximum power will be 150.
Understanding your personal power and its importance: If your faction’s current total power (the first number in the POWER line) drops LESS than the number of CLAIMS you have, then your faction can be over claimed without the need to be raided. This will be until your factions’ POWER is greater than the number of claims you have once again. As another faction, all they must do is /f claim while standing in one of your claims and they can just claim it from you. Remember, when a faction member dies, they lose power. Which means your whole faction loses power and can be over claimable.
Example: Let’s say that your faction has 10 CLAIMS, and everyone’s current power adds up to 15. Your Faction cannot be overclaimed. However, if 1 member dies over and over and their power drops by 8, then your Factions current POWER will be 7. Which means that 3 claims in your Faction can be overclaimed until the power builds back up above 10.
Options for raiding:Raiding is the main idea of the faction’s game mode. You cannot always rely on other factions to lose power. Some factions are very good at paying attention to their power so they will rarely be over claimable. Sometimes factions are also very large and would take a long time for them to drop their power low enough for you to overclaim. This is where raiding comes into play. It is not permissible to extract spawners during a raid. Should such an incident occur, verification necessitates providing photographic or video evidence with a timestamp. There are a few different methods to use to gain entry into another factions claimed base:
TNT Cannons – This cannon simply fires TNT in the direction that you place the cannon. It can be used to break walls made of high durability blocks as long as the wall does NOT have water covering it. If water is covering the wall, it will not break the blocks behind the water.
Sand-Stacker cannon or Fusion cannons – This type of cannon will allow you to break walls that are covered in water. These cannons will shoot TNT and sand at the same time. The sand will stack up against the base wall until it is the perfect height. When it’s the right height, the next shot will put the TNT inside the sand so that they will both hit the wall at the same block, at the same time, allowing the sand to temporarily remove the water where the TNT explodes so that it hits the block behind the water.
Withers – In some cases, you may want to use withers to gain access into someone’s base. You will need to spawn a wither using wither skulls. You can get these skulls in the Nether. It is very difficult to get the materials for withers as there are very limited withers in the server. However, once you spawn a wither you will need to guide it into the walls to break them down. You can google information on how to use any of these options.
Tips for building your faction: - Build your base at the very top of sky limit, or at layer 6 underground. - Only invite people you trust into your faction.- There are three ranks within a faction: Member as default, Moderator and Admin (owner). Members can only build on public land or land set for them by the admin. Moderators have bypass to everything (only mod people you trust), admin can do everything including de-ranking mods and ranking mods. Admin can do everything including de-ranking mods and ranking mods. You can set these permissions by using /f perms.- Make sure that your faction has everything that you need such as a grinder. - Protect your base with water and obsidian. - Remember to purchase your faction upgrades using /f upgrade.
