Welcome to the Factions game mode on VitalCraft! In this competitive and strategic game, you’ll join forces with other players to create and build your own faction. Work together to increase your faction’s value, raid enemy factions to diminish their resources, and either form alliances or engage in warfare with other factions.
Building Faction Value
- Faction Value: Faction value is determined exclusively by the spawners placed within your faction's claimed land. Each spawner requires 6 days to accumulate its full value.
- Spawners: Can be purchased from the /shop in the spawners section or obtained through crates with crate keys. Higher-priced spawners contribute more to your faction’s value.
- Viewing Faction Value: Use the /ftop command to check the Faction Top values, which update every 60 minutes. Note that if a spawner is broken, its accumulated value will be lost, and the value will reset to 0 when the spawner is replaced.
Understanding Personal Power
- Personal Power: Personal power is crucial for maintaining control over your faction’s land. To view your current and maximum power, use /f power.
- Power Details: By default, free players have a personal power of 15. This power regenerates over time but is reduced by 2 upon death. The lowest power can drop to -15. Higher ranks, available in the /store, offer increased maximum power and additional perks.
Understanding Faction Power
- Faction Power: To view details about your faction’s power, use the /f show command:
- POWER: Displays two numbers. The first is the current total power of all faction members, and the second is the maximum combined power of all members.
- CLAIMS: Shows the number of claims (chunks) your faction has. You can claim land using /f claim and unclaim it with /f unclaim. You cannot claim more land than your faction's maximum power allows. For example, if your faction has 10 members, the maximum power will be 150, allowing up to 150 chunks to be claimed.
Importance of Personal Power
If your faction’s total power falls below the number of claims, other factions can overclaim your land without needing to raid. For example, if you have 10 claims and the total power drops to 7 due to deaths, 3 of your claims may be vulnerable to overclaiming until the power increases above 10 again.
Raiding Options
Raiding is a key aspect of Factions gameplay. You may need to use various methods to breach enemy bases:
- TNT Cannons: Fires TNT to break through walls. Note that walls covered with water are resistant to TNT damage.
- Sand-Stacker Cannons or Fusion Cannons: These cannons combine TNT and sand to bypass water-covered walls. Sand stacks up to the right height, allowing TNT to penetrate through the water.
- Withers: Spawned using wither skulls from the Nether, withers can break through walls. However, obtaining wither skulls is challenging, and you’ll need to guide the wither to break down walls.
Tips for Building Your Faction
- Build your base at the sky limit or layer 6 underground.
- Invite only trusted players to your faction.
- Use the three faction ranks effectively: Member (default), Moderator, and Admin. Members can build on designated land, Moderators have full permissions, and Admins manage all faction operations. Set permissions using /f perms.
- Protect your base with water and obsidian.
- Purchase faction upgrades using /f upgrade.
